Energy efficiency in cities, municipalities and regions is receiving an ever growing attention across the EU, while the European Union is designing its plans for an Energy Union which will also include a framework for energy efficiency. At local level, energy efficiency opportunities range from the building sector to electricity and transport. Cities and municipalities are making a huge variety of experiences with action fields like e-mobility and local heating, energy efficient “passive houses” and innovative street lamps.  Local actors, municipalities and stakeholders alike, are taking action in various fields – what best practices and approaches can they learn from each other?

The aim of this seminar is to provide an opportunity for local, regional and EU stakeholders to discuss  options, best practices and solutions in the field of energy efficiency applications, also in connection with  the use of  renewable energy. The event will also serve as a platform to discuss research and innovation opportunities of the organizing regions in view of possible collaborations with other regional partners.
